In Mekari Sign, Document Policy allows you to set default settings for each type of document. These settings include Signing Date, Effective Date, Expiration Date, and Download Permission, and can be customized again during the document upload process. Here are the steps.
Go to the Settings menu.
On the Preferences tab, click “Document Policy”.
Then click the “New policy” button.
Select the type of document you want to configure.
You can toggle Allow recipients to download document if you want to allow recipients to download the document.
Then click “Continue”.
In the Signing deadline section, you can set whether to apply a signing deadline on the document or not.
If you choose Set a deadline, set the number of days as the deadline for signing the document after it is received.
Toggle Set automatic reminder if you want to send automatic reminders. Also specify on which day the reminder will be sent since the document was first received.
Then toggle Set recurring reminder to apply how many times the reminder will be sent and click “Continue”.

In the Contract validity section, you can set the validity period of the document after it has been signed. You can also specify the document’s start date (Effective Date) and set when the document will expire.
Notes:
- Immediate after document completed: Immediately after the document status is completed (signed).
- Days after document completed: Specify how many days after the document is completed before it expires.
- Specified date: Specify the exact date the document expires. -
You can also apply the document validity period in Document expiration.
Notes:
- No expiration: Select this option if you do not want to apply an expiration period to the document.
- Expired after the effective date started: The document validity ends after a certain period calculated from the effective start date.
- Expired on the specified date: The document validity ends on a specific date. Then click “Save” to save the settings.
The created settings will appear in the list. You can also click the “Actions” button and select View details to see the setting details, Edit to modify, and Delete to remove.
The settings you create will be saved to the final stage (Review and send) when creating documents in the Document settings section for the same document type.
