Important
To be able to carry out the eKYC process, make sure that you have the document you need to sign, either a document you created yourself and need to sign yourself or a document from another creator who invites you to sign it.

If you do not meet the criteria mentioned above, you cannot proceed with the eKYC process, and when you click “Start data verification”, you will be directed to the following screen.

This may be caused by:
1. You do not yet have a document that you need to sign.
2. Your previous eKYC verification process is still ongoing.

On Mekari Sign, you can now perform verification and the eKYC process, which functions to issue a digital certificate, so that the electronic signature you provide is official and recognized by private sectors, government, and the national judicial system (according to the Electronic Information and Transactions Law 2008 article 11). This certificate is valid for one year, so you can perform verification and the eKYC process once a year.

Here are the steps:

1. Go to the Settings page

2. On the Account tab, select Digital certificate.
   

3. On this page, click the “Start data verification” button.
   

4. Select your citizenship status and one type of identity document you can prepare. Then, click "Submit".
   

5. Read the terms and conditions, then check the checklist box at the bottom and click “Activate account”.
   

6. Upload a photo of your KTP if you are an Indonesian citizen (WNI).
   

   - Make sure the NIK you enter has not been used for eKYC before.
   - If you are a foreign citizen (WNA), here is the KITAP display.
   

7. For Indonesian citizens, you can fill in your NIK and full name, then click “Next”.
   

   If you are a foreign citizen, you can complete the personal information form, such as Name, KITAP Number, KITAP expiration date, Country of origin, Passport photo, Passport number, Passport expiration date, and Work permit photo. Then, click "Next".
   

8. If the NIK you entered has already been used for eKYC, you will see information about the email linked to that NIK. Next, enter that email in the confirmation field provided.
   

   - You need to confirm via email. If you do not confirm, you will see the following screen.
   
   - In the confirmation email, you can click the “Yes, it’s me” button to confirm. Only after that can you proceed to the next step.
   

9. Then, a 6-digit OTP code will be sent to your email. Enter the OTP code into the box provided, then click "Send".
   

10. Next, perform liveness detection by clicking “Start” and face your camera, following these conditions:
    - Remove facial accessories (Glasses, Hat, Mask).
    - Ensure good lighting, not too dark & not too bright.
    

11. Then, follow the instructions that appear on your screen.
    

12. If your eKYC verification is approved, your digital certificate will be issued immediately. However, if the eKYC verification is rejected, you will be directed to perform manual eKYC verification.
