How to View Document Summary

You can now easily view a summary of the key information in a document in a short amount of time without having to open it. With the Summary feature powered by AI, Mekari Sign provides an easy way for you to track key metrics, such as contract status, renewal dates, or document compliance, in real time.

In this case, the Dashboard page will display deeper insights into your company’s documents by combining and analyzing data extracted from all documents. Learn how it works in the following steps.

Important
- Users subscribed to the Business plan and higher-tier plans will receive this feature by default.
- Users outside of these plans can purchase the Summary feature as an add-on.
- Anyone included in the document—even if they are not eligible—will see the document summary results after someone with access applies Summary to the document.

  1. Go to the Documents menu.

  2. Click one of the documents to view its details page.

  3. Then, in the tab below the page, you will see Summary. Click “Generate data summary” to process the document summary.

If you have not enabled AI, when you click “Generate data summary”, the following information pop-up will appear. You can check it in the My Account section of the Settings menu, or enable it directly by clicking “Enable” as shown below.

  4. The following information pop-up will then appear, stating that your document is being summarized and will be ready within 24 hours. Click “Ok, I got it” to continue.

  5. The following notification pop-up will also appear, stating that your document is being summarized by our system. Information about your document summary that is being processed will also appear on the right side of the page.

  6. A document that has been successfully summarized will appear as follows.

If the document is tracked as a contract, you can also view the summary on the Contract page.

  7. If you are the Document maker, you can edit the summary results by clicking the ‘three-dot’ icon and then selecting Edit.

You can also click “Export” to export the summary in .csv format, as shown in the following example.

  8. Then, review and edit the information in the summary data as needed, because data generated by AI may differ from the original document. Once finished, click "Save changes" to save the changes.

  9. The following notification pop-up will then appear, stating that your Document Summary has been successfully edited.
